These captivating opal and diamond earrings are stunning. They are set in 22k yellow gold (backing of opal is 14k) . They date from the 1970s. In the center of a beautiful textured gold mounting sit a fiery oval opal. Intensifying the opal and bringing the drama and dazzle are a gorgeously designed triangular piece that dangles from the oval opals. A diamond is set in the center of each triangle and flanked above by 2 small pearls. The opals have an approx. weight of 4.00 ct. each. The diamonds have a total approx. weight of .15 ct. The diamonds are F in color and VS2 in clarity. Striking and stunning with an easy elegance. They weigh 16.64 grams. They measure 1 1/4" long x 3/4" wide at the widest on the bottom part. The top part measures 5/8". They are marked 22k. Backing of opal is 14k. They are made for pierced ears, but easily convertible into non-pierced.
