This magnificent art nouveau lorgnette is made in 14k yellow gold. It dates from the early 1900s. The lorgnette has a pair of folding glasses. The handle, beautifully portrays the fine craftsmanship of the era. The front and the back of the lorgnette are beautifully detailed in soft swirls and scrolls. The eye glasses fold in half and are hidden within the gold encasement, opening easily with a simple push of a button located on the side of the handle. At the end of the gold handle is a gold ring which is perfect for hanging from a chain. It can easily and dramatically be worn as a pendant. The lorgnette weighs 35.68 grams. It measures 5" x 1 1/4" at its widest. A striking and opulent piece.
