This remake of Salvador Dali's iconic ruby lips brooch is exponential magnificence. The iconic surrealist painter created 39 truly original jewelry designs that blur the line between art and spectacle, as Dali often did. The voluptuous lips, formed of pure, cultured pearls for teeth and numerous blood-red rubies, for the lips, are curved slightly upward, halfway between a pout and a smile. The brooch is made in 18k yellow gold. It has 99 natural Corundum rubies of varying shades and sizes. Some rubies are lead glass filled and/or thermally enhanced. The total approx. weigh is 12.75 ct. There are 10 round cultured pearls, white rose/opaque - AAA. The brooch measures 2 " x 1 1/2. It weighs 18.47 grams.
